Rolling Through Time

Many progressive and outstanding aspects of the company make Smith’s Ready Mix very unique among concrete producers in the state. The company is somewhat renowned in the Southwest and South Central parts of Arkansas and Northeast Texas for its fleet of “funny-looking” front discharge mixers that travel up and down area roadways. These modern, GPS-equipped, six-wheel-drive delivery trucks represent a huge investment that Smith’s Ready Mix makes in order to serve its many customers in a faster, safer and more efficient manner.

In contrast to their “rear discharge” truck counterparts, which are more common in the ready mixed concrete industry, the Smith's Ready Mix “fronts,” as the trucks are affectionately known, have proven to be labor-saving, safer on the job site, and more efficient. These factors are primarily due to the design of the impressive-looking vehicles, along with the fact that the Smith’s Ready Mix drivers are able to pull right up to the construction forms. Additionally, the front discharge mixers include chutes that extend to an industry-leading 25 feet.
